Peewee AA Tigers Win the Orangeville Fall Classic
The
Peewee AA Tigers played some outstanding hockey this past weekend, taking part
in the Orangeville Fall Classic.
The Tigers went unbeaten in four games during the round robin stage and battled to a 1-0 win in a hard fought, physical, and fast-paced semi-final game against the Caledon Hawks. In the championship game, the Tigers had to face one of the toughest teams in Ontario, the Newmarket Redmen.
The Tigers played a resilient game, heading into the third period down by a score of 1-0. The Redmen were relentless, but halfway through the third period, the Tigers scored the equalizer. The last half of the third period was a flurry of activity, and with only 42 seconds remaining, Aurora doubled down on the pressure and created a scoring chance that led to the winning goal. The Tigers defeated the Redmen, 2-1, and they were named Tournament Champions.
Congratulations are extended to the Peewee AA Tigers and for their two outstanding goalie performances which spurred the team on to victory. The coaching staff and the Tiger families couldn’t be prouder of the team!
