2017 - 2018 PEEWEE AA TRYOUTS
Welcome to the 2017/18 Aurora Tigers Peewee AA Tryouts. Passports are required to be purchased from the Aurora Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) prior to tryout sessions. Please ensure that players come prepared for their session, this includes all O.M.H.A. required equipment, appropriate warm up attire and a water bottle for personal use. Tryout jersey's will be supplied by the AMHA and must be returned after each on ice session.
The Peewee AA tryout schedule is as follows:
Mon, Apr 24 7:30 PM-9:00 PM Aurora CC (2 - McAlpine Lincoln)
Thu, Apr 27 7:00 PM-8:30 PM Aurora CC (2 - McAlpine Lincoln)
Fri, Apr 28 7:00 PM-8:30 PM Aurora CC (2 - McAlpine Lincoln)
The first on ice session will be open to any 2005 registered AMHA players and NRP's. The second session will include all candidates asked to return from the first ice session. The final session will be an exhibition game vs. a team of 2005 Newmarket players. All players attending the exhibition game will adhere to the AMHA and team dress codes. Several experienced coaches will act as evaluators and/or on ice instructors. Their opinions together with my own will select the Peewee AA team. Please do not approach evaluators, all questions should be directed towards me through the 2017/2018 Peewee AA webpage email link. After each session a list of passport numbers will be posted on the 2017/2018 Peewee AA webpage. These numbers will indicate which players are being asked to return, those not listed will have been released to the Peewee A team or in the case of NRP candidates, to their association of origin. These numbers will be posted on our team webpage by 4:00 pm the day following a tryout.
Playing rep hockey requires player/parent commitment of both time and significant dollars. This season we will play approximately 30 league games plus additional play-off, tournament and exhibition games. Each week there could be up to two practices and one home and one away game. There will also be 2-4 tournaments (one/two out of town). Budget outlines have not been completed but expect costs to be approximately ($2000-$2,500) per player for the season. Parents may be called upon to help obtain sponsorships, organize fundraising activities, etc. to help offset these costs. I wish all candidates the best of luck in their tryouts.
