The U16BB hockey team showcased their exceptional talent and determination this past weekend, emerging victorious at the OMHA Championship with an impressive 5-0 record. Their journey to the top was marked by a series of thrilling matches against formidable opponents.
In their opening game, the U16BB team dominated the Kingston Canadians with a commanding 7-1 victory, setting the tone for the tournament. They continued their winning streak by defeating the Milton Winterhawks 3-1, demonstrating their strong defensive and offensive skills.
The competition intensified as they faced the Oakville Rangers, but the U16BB team held their ground, securing a narrow 3-2 win. The semi-final match against North Durham was a nail-biter, extending into triple overtime (6 periods of hockey with two floods!). The U16BB Tigers displayed remarkable resilience and clinched a 2-1 victory, earning their spot in the final.
