2023 - 2024 Program Model for U9 & Below
Submitted By Joe Bentolila on Thu 03 09, 23
The AMHA is pleased to announce the 2023-2024 program for U9 & Below. The first years of hockey for these young players need to be a positive experience. A fun and exciting start gives young players the opportunity to enjoy hockey for life.

Coaching clinics have been designed for the on-ice coaches that focuses on communication, teaching skills, leadership, skill analysis, lesson organization and risk management.
Our main focus and program goals,  Have Fun, Get Active, Learn Fundamental Hockey Skills, Develop and Refine Basic Motor Patterns, Practice, Cooperation and Fair Play

For the upcoming season, our goal is to have two(2) U9 MD Teams and one(1) U8MD Team along with the possibility of a Select Team.  This is all registration dependent.  For the U9 MD team(s) players will be tiered based on skill ability.  Like skilled players playing against like skilled players will create a meaningful competition.

For the 2015, 2016 year of birth players, the AMHA will have fun skates over the spring.  Dates TBD.  Please watch this website for details as they will be posted as information is available. Players must be registered with the AMHA prior to attending the fun skates.

Evaluations Phase may begin September 11th.  All Players will have at least three (3) evaluation sessions (one skills, one small area games, and one game) prior to tiering of Players. No Evaluations the first week of school.
The Development Phase may begin Sep. 18 consisting of 2 exhibition games and 1 tournament.
The regular season may begin Oct 2 and will participate in meaningful competition until March 1.

Players will need to be registered and evaluation passports will be available in late August 2023.
