Welcoming Arms - Covid-19

Hi Everyone,

 Unfortunately, stockings for Welcoming Arms are out of the question due to Covid.  However we are still able to help with sponsoring a dinner, through Welcome Table or through their Bridging the Gap Program.  

Option 1: Welcome Table is a major program at Welcoming Arms. For more than 15 years over 100 single adults and families have received a hot meal prepared and served by our volunteers every Wednesday night, 52 weeks a year, in a sit-down setting. The cost for purchasing everything for this freshly cooked meal runs at approximately $500.00 each session. A hockey team could sponsor one of these dinners or two/three  teams might jointly sponsor an evening. It would remain with the organizer or team if they wished to donate cash or provide gift cards which would be used to purchase the ingredients for the main course/salad/dessert and beverage. If gift cards are the choice, please provide President’s Choice/No Frills cards.

Option 2: Bridging the Gap is another program run by Welcoming Arms. Since, 2006, Bridging the Gap has been assisting the needy in Aurora monthly with grocery gift cards, and toiletries ….and bus tickets. If a team chose this option, gift cards in denominations of $25/$50 from President’s Choice/No Frills would be distributed to these single individuals and families to make their own purchases for what they need this Christmas.

To make things easier/safer, teams/individuals are able to E-TRANSFER Welcoming Arms Directly.  All we ask is you just send me an email stating you have done so. (we do not need the amount of your contribution).  Please use email below for e-transferring.  You need to provide a security question and answer.

If you would like a receipt, please put your address in the message optional box.


If you do not wish to e-transfer, please contact me and I will make arrangements to pick up gift cards/monetary donations and drop off.  If you can have everything ready by November 20th, 2020 would be greatly appreciated.
