Team Formation and Coach Communication
Submitted By Joe Bentolila on Sunday, September 13, 2020
Hello Everyone

I'd like to start off by thanking everyone for their patience and understanding during these trying times.  This season will be a time where hockey will not be what it is we are accustomed to.  With the great help of our division convenors, we have started to send out to all coaches the team composition.

You should be hearing from your coach via email or by phone as to what team your child is on.  If you have not heard by Wednesday September 16th, please contact the hockey office.

As you can well imagine, the amount of work that has gone into placing players and trying to get this unique season underway, players may be moved should re-balancing be required within their own bubble. In most divisions we will have bubbles that consist of 4 teams. PLEASE BE PATIENT.

The scheduled start date is the week of September 21st.  The first 2 weeks of the season will be skills and drills.  I was hoping our teams would have been notified when their scheduled ice times are but we are still awaiting our ice allotment from the Town.

Rules for this season will also be coming soon to our coaches. They can share these with you so that you can share them with your child.  For our players entering the facility,  we have designated entrances and exits which will also be communicated to you through your coaches.

All skaters will arrive with equipment on 15 minutes prior to their game or practice time. No sooner. Dressing rooms will be for skates, gloves and helmets only with exception of goalies. Goalies will have a dedicated dressing room in which they can put on pads, skates, chest protector, gloves and helmet. Players entering the facility will wear a mask to be removed only when putting their helmets on prior to entering the ice surface. All players must bring their own labeled filled water bottle. It is strongly encouraged that players bring a paper bag for
storing their mask while on the ice. Players first and last name should appear on the bag.

We will be using an online screening company in-which you will need to fill out for your player 2 hours prior to the scheduled event.  Coaches will be entering your email which is associated to your team. You will then receive an email from Javelin Sports where you will carefully follow the instructions. Any player, parent or staff member exhibiting any signs of illness are asked to remain home and seek further medical advice. If it is determined that a person has been diagnosed with Covid-19, a Return To Play letter will be required prior to returning to any team activity. This person must also immediately notify their coach who, in turn, will notify the head trainer. We will, with input from our local health unit, determine the next course of action prior to resuming team activities for that group.

We will be posting ice times for each team on the website and they will be sent to your coaches as well.  Familiarize yourself with your team name.

I hope that your player has an incredibley fun season.  I look forward to seeing as many of you on and off the ice.  Should you have any questions, please forward them to [email protected] or to [email protected]
