Welcome to the U11 AA 2025/2026 Season
Dear Parents,
My name is Jamie Brubacher, and I am the head coach for the 2025/2026 U11 AA Aurora Tiger’s hockey team.  I would like to welcome everyone to the tryouts and thank you for taking the time to attend. I wish each and every player the best of luck!

TRYOUT SCHEDULE:
Tryout #1 = Saturday April 26th – ACC #1 (Ford) – 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Tryout #2 = Sunday April 27th – ACC #1 (Ford) – 1:45 pm – 3:15 pm
Tryout#3 = Thursday May 1st – ACC #1 (Ford) – 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

TRYOUT PROCESS:

1. Make sure to sign up for your Tryout Passport. The link can be found here:
https://page.spordle.com/aurora/participant/1efff94a-ac58-6de0-9229-02630278221b

2. Please ensure that you indicate the position that your player is trying out for, however all decisions about player positions are at the discretion of the coach and could change during the season based on the needs of the team.

3. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the tryout begins.

4. When you arrive at the lobby of the ACC rink, please go to the AMHA table to sign-in and receive your child’s tryout jersey. THIS JERSEY MUST BE RETURNED AT THE END OF EACH TRYOUT. It does not go home.

5. Full protective gear is mandatory, including neck and mouth guards – players without, or missing such equipment, will NOT be allowed on the ice.

6. Once the first tryout begins, we will have a quick parent meeting in upstairs in the stands so I can introduce myself and answer any questions you might have about the upcoming season.

7. During the tryouts there will be independent evaluators assisting me through tryout process. Please do NOT approach the evaluators, as they have a job to do.

8. Communication of my decisions after each tryout will occur via the website and NOT in person. Your child’s passport submission ID number is the code that identifies them on the team website. If your child’s number remains on the website after they have been updated, you are invited to come to the next tryout.

After the 1st tryout, results will be posted that evening no earlier than 8:00PM

After the 2nd tryout, results will be posted that evening no earlier than 6:00 PM.

After the 3rd tryout, results will be posted within 3 hours after the tryout.

There are many different factors that go into player decisions beyond skill level. Decisions are also made based on behavior, attitude, work ethic, coachability as well as various other criteria. A roster position on this team should never be assumed. The tryout process is designed to identify the best collective group of players to form next year’s U11 AA Team.

I am aware that some players (and/or their parents) may experience anxiety during this process. PLEASE kindly reinforce with your child that they perform at their best when feeling relaxed and confident. It is also important for parents to help manage their child’s expectations during this process. Let’s all make the tryout process an enjoyable one!

TEAM EXPECTATIONS:

There will be a financial and time commitment required from each family invited to join the team. The estimated financial commitment will be approximately $3,500 - $4,000 in addition to the AMHA registration fee. We will be looking for sponsorships and fundraising to help reduce the cost per family. The time commitment will be 3 to 4 times per week with practices and games and a season that will run from September 2025 – April 2026. It is expected that all players attend all practices and games and arrive on time and in uniform.

We will be attending 4 tournaments this year. 3 local, 1 in Ottawa, Ontario that will require an overnight stay.

Next season I will be helped by Alex Priest who will be an assistant coach and trainer. We will be looking for the following parent positions for the upcoming season.

1.    2 Assistant Coaches

2.    1 Team Trainer

3.    2 practice coaches

If your child makes the team, they MUST attend the Tigerware fitting on Monday, May 6th@ 7:30 PM.

If you have a question for me, then please email me. If you have a concern, then please respect the OMHA protocol of waiting 24 hours to contact the coach. Please contact me via email after this time. If I receive an email before this time, I will respond when the 24 hour wait period has expired.

THANK YOU and I look forward to seeing you at the rink.
