2017-2018 Aurora Tigers Tyke B Team Tryouts
I would like to take the opportunity to welcome, and thank, all parents, guardians, and players for taking part in our 2017-2018 Aurora Tigers Tyke B team tryout process.

Schedule
Tryout #1      Sunday, Oct 15, 2017         3:00 - 4:00 PM         ACC#1
Tryout #2      Saturday, Oct 21, 2017      3:00 - 4:00 PM         ACC#1
Tryout #3      Sunday, Oct 22, 2017         1:15 - 2:15 PM         ACC#2

Jersey & Equipment
All players are assigned a tryout jersey color & number at the sign-in desk. At the completion of each tryout, please return this jersey directly to the coach. Full protective gear is mandatory, including neck and mouth guards. Players without, or missing, such equipment, will not be allowed on the ice!!

Drills & Evaluations
The tryout drills, based on Hockey Canada guidelines, have been designed to test core skills, including ( forward and backward); puck control; passing; and, shooting. In parallel, players will also be evaluated on: coach-ability ( listening skills and behaviors); sportsmanship; and, compete level.

An evaluation team will assist in the tryout process. These evaluators have been selected from their minor hockey expertise and I trust their judgments implicitly. In the interest of fairness, I would ask that you not approach the evaluators during the tryout (s).

Selection or Release Process
After each of the tryouts, I will be distributing envelopes with invitations to attend the next tryout or a release letter thanking the player for attending the current tryout. Please review the content of the letter received with your child, in private, and away from the arena lobby, preferably in your car or at home. This is not only to protect your own child's feelings, if necessary, but also to protect the feelings of the other players in what may be a difficult time. There is no easy way to do this and your discretion is sincerely appreciated.

The Head Coach will be available for additional feedback for released players, if requested, no sooner than 48 hours after the final tryout date.

**To be clear, if your child is selected to the team, it will be the Head Coach's final decision as to the position(s) they will be playing. **

The Season Ahead - A Time and Financial Commitment
The 2017-2018 season will begin Monday, Oct 23 with a fitting and run through until the end of March.

The schedule will consist of approximately 12 - 14 games. We expect to enter in 3 tournaments, 1 of which will be out of town. Generally, there will be 3 games per month and 1 practice per week. Budget outlines have not been completed but we expect it will cost approximately $1500 - $2000 per player for the 2017-2018 season
(including Tiger apparel). Parents may be called upon to obtain sponsorship and organize fundraising activities to help to offset there costs and to support the team administratively.

**Due to the recent rule change by Hockey Canada, no under age players will be able to tryout. Sorry for the inconvenience**

Sincerely,

Mark Di Palma
Aurora Tigers Tyke B Head Coach
