Aurora Blackhawks (Team 907) Deliver a Top-Notch Tournament Performance in Parry Sound
The Aurora Blackhawks (Midget HL Team-907-Black Investors Group) competed this past weekend in the 2nd Annual Shamrock Challenge House League Tournament in Parry Sound.


With an impressive AMHA house league record of, 20-4-1, the team made the two hour trip north to Parry Sound, taking on teams from Chatham, St. Catharines, Sudbury, and Huntsville, among others.

The Blackhawks opened the tournament on Friday with a 5-4 win over the Almaguiin Ice Devils. On Saturday morning, the team earned their second win of the tournament by beating the Parry Sound LL1 squad, 4-1. In the final game of the round robin, the Blackhawks were beaten by a solid St. Julia Eagles team, 5-1.

Having earned a spot in the semi-final round on Sunday, the Blackhawks came out hard and defeated the St. Charles Turbos, 5-3, setting up a championship game match-up against the St. Julia Eagles. In a hard-fought and competitive championship game, the Tigers came up just short, finishing behind the tournament champions from St. Catharines, the St. Julia Eagles.

Chris Catania (Head Coach), Bill Freeman (Assistant Coach), Jeff Mitchell (Assistant Coach), Kevin Gage (Trainer), and all Blackhawks parents, friends, and family, are proud of the team. Well-done Blackhawks!
