The 2015/16 Bantam AE team is happening!
I would like to welcome everyone to the Bantam AE 2015/16 AMHA team tryouts.
Please read carefully for additional information regarding the Bantam AE team
and the tryout process. I am seeking players to tryout in all positions, especially Defense.
The players will be assigned a tryout jersey colour and number at the tryout registration desk. Jersey must be handed in to coach following completion of each tryout. Kindly note that full protective gear is mandatory, including neck and mouth guards – players without, or missing such equipment, will not be allowed on the ice. The tryouts are an anxious time for all of us while the players are evaluated. It will be an extremely difficult task choosing 17 players (15 players, 2 goalies) for each team from a large group of hardworking athletes. Player selection will be based on their individual abilities such as:
· Skating · Puck handling · Shooting · Team play · Hockey sense · Attentiveness · Attitude · Desire · Coachability
To ensure the selection process is fair, there will be a team of evaluators assisting in assessing the players. Please do not approach evaluators. Our tryout schedule is as follows:

This season all releases will be done via the AMHA website on the team specific page. Each player was assigned a unique player code upon payment processing of the Tryout Passport. Releases after the first two tryouts will be made by the head coach via the AMHA Website a minimum of 3 hours after the tryout completion. If your player code is listed you have been invited to return to the next tryout. After the third (final) tryout, the player codes of those that have been selected for the team will be listed on the team website after 4:30 pm on Wed May 13, 2015.
I am pleased that Andrew Bruckner will be assistant coach this year with the Bantam AE team and will be assisting at the tryouts.

Tiger Game Jersey Fittings – Thurs May 14, 2015 – Boardroom ACC1 7:30pm– 9:00 pm
Tigerware Off Ice Fittings and AMHA Fun day – Sat June 20, 2015 - 11:30 am – 4:00 pm details to follow
A parent meeting for those selected to the team will be scheduled at a later date. The head coach will be available for additional feedback for released players, if requested, no sooner than 48 hours after the final tryout date.
It is important to know that playing rep hockey requires a big commitment both time-wise and financially. This year we will be playing approximately 30 league games plus additional play-off, tournament and exhibition games. The regular ice times have not yet been determined. Each week there will be, on average, two practices and one home and one away game. There will also be 2-4 tournaments (one/two out of town). Budget outlines have not been completed but we expect it will cost approximately $1,500-$2,000 per player this season. Parents may be called upon to; obtain sponsorship, organize fundraising activities to help offset these costs and to support the team administratively.
There is a mandatory team dress code for all games.
It should be clearly understood that if your child should make this team, it will be the coach’s final decision as to the positions they will be playing.
