Minor Novice House League 2019-2020
Hello Parents!  Welcome to the 2019-2020 Minor Novice House League season!  The season will start the weekend of September 7th and I’m excited to see everyone on the ice.  Within the next week, you will be receiving additional information about this season.  Please note that the first two weekends will be used for on ice evaluation and start times will be 7:15, 8:15 and 9:15AM Saturday and 9:15AM, 10:15 and 11:15 on Sunday.

Some things I wanted to bring to your attention:
1) When you registered your child for the Minor Novice hockey season, you were advised that one parent/ family member needs to complete an online course called Respect in Hockey, prior to the start of hockey season, in order for your child to play hockey. This online course needs to be completed before the season starts on September 7th. It takes about 1 hour to complete. If your child is new to the league and you don’t have any other children playing in the league, you will have to complete the Respect in Sport Parent Course https://omhahockeyparent.respectgroupinc.com/secure

If you have completed the Respect in Sport program for a different child, you will need to add your child(s) name to the list. In order to do this, please log onto the Respect Group website and go to your profile. Under Child Management, add your child(s) information and save.

2) I will send in a separate email an attachment relating to the information and acknowledgement form for Rowan’s Law. We require every player and a parent to sign the form (even the little ones have to sign). I’m sending this out in advance of our first skate and ask that you return the original signed copy to me on the first weekend.

3) In order for this season to start, I am asking for volunteers to come forward to help with the following roles: - Head coach (will need 6 in total, one for each team) - Assistant coaches - Trainer (will need 6 in total, one for each team) - Team parent (will need 6 in total, one for each team) To the parents that have already reached out to myself or to the organization and have volunteered - thank you! Some parents indicated on the registration form that they are willing to volunteer and I will be sending out a separate email with further information about training, etc. next week. If you would like to volunteer, please let me know as soon as possible.

4) Please check the AMHA website for updates. A calendar with ice times will be posted under the Minor Novice section. You will notice that nothing is posted yet for the first two weekends. I will try and have this updated.

5) This year there will be a Minor Novice Select team. Tryouts will take place September 17th, 18th and 20th. All players will participate in the first two evaluation weekend skates regardless of where he or she lands in the rep tryouts, but if they are chosen for the Minor Novice Select team these players will not play House League and will have their own specific times. More details to come on this. Please note this is optional and your son or daughter does not need to participate in these select tryouts unless they are interested in Rep hockey.

6) If your child was born in 2013 and is brand new to the game of hockey, you have the option of staying in Minor Novice, or moving to Tiger Cubs, which is an introductory development level for 4-6 year olds.

7) My goal is to honor all friend requests.

If at any time you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I can be reached at this email address. I’m looking forward to a fun hockey season!
