U11 AA Champions – Capital Winter Classic Tournament
The U11 AA Aurora Tigers are the champions of the Capital Winter
Classic Tournament.
With some of the best U11 AA from across the province playing,
the competition was fierce in the round robin. The Tigers were undefeated in the
opening round – booking a spot in Sunday’s semi-final.
In a rematch of the Battle of Yonge Street against a great team from Newmarket, the boys were victorious by grinding out another 1-0 victory with solid team defence and an amazing effort.
On to a hard fought, tight final against Nickel City Jr Sons where the boys had one of their best games of the season – no doubt inspired by the boisterous fans that travelled to cheer on the Tigers.
What a game, what a finish and what a tournament. It is amazing to win a championship, even more so when it is with a special group of boys – good teammates, now better friends.
A big thank to our coaches, manager, volunteers, parents and sponsors – who all helped in making this a weekend to remember.
