Preparation for Tryouts
A successful tryout starts with arriving prepared.

TRYOUT PROCESS:

1. Registration will take place at ACC prior to the tryout. Every player should have registered for a Tryout Passport prior to the first tryout.

2. Please aim to arrive 45 minutes before the tryout begins.

3. Sign in at AMHA table to receive your child’s tryout jersey. THIS JERSEY MUST BE RETURNED AT THE END OF EACH TRYOUT

4. Full protective gear is mandatory, including neck and mouth guards – players without, or missing such equipment, will NOT be allowed on the ice.

5. There will be a team of independent evaluators who will be assisting me with assessing the players. The AMHA will also assign independent evaluators.

6. During and after the tryout, please do NOT approach the evaluators.

7. Communication of my decisions after each tryout will occur via the website and NOT in person at the arena. Your child’s passport submission ID number is your code that identifies you on the website (Look at U9 MD page: Tryout Player List).
After the 1st tryout, results will be posted no later than 8:00 pm the same day.
After the 2nd tryout, results will be posted no later than 10:00 pm of the same day.
After the 3rd tryout, results will be posted AFTER 10:00 am the following day.

For players successful in making the team, there are additional financial and time expectations when playing rep hockey. The estimated financial commitment will be approximately $2,000 to $2,500 per player. The team will be together 3-4 times per week for games, practices and other events.

This is an anxious time for players and parents. Relax and enjoy your time back in the rink watching your child have fun. Young players will perform their best when they enjoy themselves and don't feel the pressure to perform.

I'm looking forward to a great season ahead.
