AURORA TIGERS MINOR BANTAM MD – 2019–2020
TRYOUTS
Welcome to the Aurora Tigers Minor
Bantam MD tryouts. I would like to thank all players in advance for
participating in the tryout process. My name is Ammy Mann, and I will be the Head
Coach for the 2019/2020 Minor Bantam MD Aurora Tigers. I have both played and
coached competitive hockey for the better part of 30 years. My coaching
philosophy is simply to develop the players through both individual skills and
as a team to guide them as they evolve as athletes. By doing this, we expect to
have a fun and successful hockey season.
There will be a total of (3) tryout sessions on the following dates:

Tryout #3 - exhibition game vs. Newmarket.
Upon arrival to each tryout, please proceed to the registration desk to check in and receive a tryout jersey. Jerseys are to be returned to the desk following each tryout.
All players must attend the first tryout in order to be invited back to the second and third tryout.
Evaluation Process:
The evaluators will be focused on the following categories: Various Hockey Skills, Hockey IQ, Compete Level, Coachability, Character, Sportsmanship and Fitness Level.
At the coaches meeting for the 2019-20 season the AMHA and coaches had a lengthy discussion on the topic of “Bubble Calls”. For those of you new to Aurora Minor Hockey, in previous years, the coach of that specific team would contact the family of the player prior to the 3rd tryout who played on the team in the previous season, who is now fighting for a final spot on the current seasons team. Upon discussion, the AMHA has decided that there will be NO “Bubble Calls” to incumbents for the 2019-20 season. The rationale for this decision is that the AMHA continues to expect us as coaches to select the best skaters and goaltenders to comprise our team. The AMHA will still have independent evaluators which provides consistent discretion on individual talents on each player that are compared to our evaluations. As always, we encourage that you share this information with your child and to make sure that she/he understands that they must always give 100%, at all tryouts, and all season.
Invite Back Process:
After each session, please refer to the AMHA website and carefully validate your passport number against the numbers on the page. If your number matches, you are invited back to the next tryout. A final roster will be selected following the final tryout May 5th.
Passport codes will be updated by midnight of the same day for Tryout #1 & Tryout #2
Final roster will be posted Sunday May 5th, after 6:00pm
The 2019-20 roster will be 15 skaters and 2 goalies.
Tigerware fitting for the team and coaches will take place on Wednesday May 8th, 2019 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at Lions Share Marketing - -16610 Bayview Ave.
Player Positions:
The coaching staff and myself will determine all player positions for the 2019-20 season.
