You
may have noticed a house league team in our Peewee Division, Team 610, wearing
pink jerseys. Team 610-Pink is looking to their team, to their division, and to
the AMHA family for their support in helping to raise funds for childhood
cancer research funding.“Even with only 3% of all cancer research funding devoted to childhood cancers, great strides have been made in the battle against childhood cancer. Forty years ago, survival rates were less than 60%. Today, over 82% of children survive. Imagine what we could do with more research funding.”
Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation
Team 610-Pink has an online donation link set up with the foundation (click here) and they are also currently accepting personal and team donations. For the team itself, a fundraising campaign is currently underway and this will carry on for the duration of the season. The team’s coaching staff will each donate $1.00 for every team victory and the players will each donate 5 cents for every loss, all towards the cause.
We’d like the AMHA family to step up and to support Team 610-Pink. Every donation helps and whenever you see these young Peewee players in their pink jerseys on the ice or in the arena, your financial/fundraising support of them will genuinely make a difference.
Please support the Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation and their mission:
“To create victories for Canadian children with cancer through investment in national, collaborative, lifesaving research, and empowering education and community programs.”
