I would like to welcome you to the 2016 – 2017 Aurora Tigers Minor Midget A tryouts!
Our tryout schedule is as follows:
Saturday April 30 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM ACC2 - McAlpine Lincoln
Sunday May 1 1:45 PM - 3:15 PM ACC2 - McAlpine Lincoln
Tuesday May 3 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM ACC1 - McAlpine Ford
Like last year, we will be using this website as the primary means to communicate during the tryout period. Your son’s confidential tryout passport submission ID number is the code that will identify him. I will post all changes by midnight on Saturday April 30th, and by 8:00 p.m. on Monday May 2nd and Wednesday May 4th. Once the team is picked, I will plan a meeting for the players and for the parents, dates TBA. Our uniform fitting will be on Wednesday May 25th at 9:15 p.m.
I am anticipating a very competitive round of tryouts. There is a relatively small pool of players this year, so each of the boys will have to work hard to show me and my evaluators that they have the characteristics that I’m looking for: positional skills, speed, shooting, but most of all, positive attitudes and being a team player.
My philosophy is to play hard and have fun. I know that at this age, there are many different activities competing for the boys’ time – academic, athletic and social. I want them to want to be at the rink, to want to keep playing hockey. To that end, our practices will be a combination of hockey development and fun (scrimmages, shoot-outs, etc.). I expect the team to be competitive in all games and tournaments.
