Minor Bantam AE boys show their support for local charity
The Minor Bantam AE team participated in a Christmas Assistance Program run by Welcoming Arms, a registered charity in Aurora whose purpose is to provide assistance to Aurora citizens in need.
The boys were challenged to get involved by raising $20 each for the charity by contributing their allowances, birthday money and paper route money, or by earning their donation money by completing chores for family, friends and neighbours.
In the end, the boys raised a grand total of $760 for Welcoming Arms. Each boy was responsible for purchasing a President's Choice Financial Gift Card and enclosing it in a Christmas card with a personalized message to the Welcoming Arms recipient. At the charity's request, PC Financial Gift Cards were the preferred donation item as they provide the family or individual the dignity to select their own holiday groceries and gifts.
