Peewee RS Tigers Earn OCHL C Championship
Over the weekend of February 3rd to 5th, the Peewee Roster Select (RS) Tigers competed in the 42nd Annual OCHL Heritage Tournament. The tournament hosted 102 RS teams in age groups ranging from Tyke through to Midget.

The Peewee RS Tigers battled hard in Game 1 against the hometown OCHL Hawks. In a tight affair, the Tigers earned a come-from-behind victory, 3-2. It was a definite "character" win.

Day two of the tournament brought the squad up against a tough team from Kingston, but once again, the Tigers prevailed, 2-0, with a relentless combination of speed, passing, and outstanding defensive work.

Going into Game 3 on Saturday evening, the Tigers were pitted against another solid opponent, the Whitby Wildcats. In another closely played game, the two teams went into the third period tied, 1-1. With just under three minutes remaining in the game, Whitby managed to break the tie, leading the Wildcats to a 2-1 victory. Regardless, the Tigers showed their resolve and prepared for a big game on Sunday. With two wins and a loss, the Tigers had earned enough points to play on Sunday against the Ajax Knights.

The boys came prepared and they played with speed and determination, two factors that helped them in the tournament (and through the season, for that matter). The Tigers won the game over Ajax, 4-0, claiming the title. Parents, families, and friends are all very proud of this hard-working squad. Congratulations to the Tigers, to the coaches, and to the team staff. A quick note of appreciation is extended to the parents for all of their support.

Special thanks to Mary Ann Cobb for the story submission.
