Welcome to the PeeWee AA tryouts

Welcome AMHA Pee Wee AA team tryouts. Thank you for taking the time to attend.
The players will be assigned a tryout jersey colour and number prior to each tryout. Jersey must be handed in to the coach following the completion of each tryout.
Kindly note that full protective gear is mandatory, including neck and mouth guards – players without, or missing such equipment, will not be allowed on the ice.
The tryouts will be an anxious time for all of us while the players are evaluated. It will be an extremely difficult task choosing 17 players (15 players, 2 goalies) for each team from a large group of hardworking athletes. Player selection will be based on their individual abilities such as:

· Coachability

To ensure the selection process is fair, there will be a team of evaluators that include mentor coach Rob Scott, the Pee Wee A coach (Glenn Dool) and the Pee Wee AE coach (John Martin) and Rich Ciravella assisting me in assessing the players. Please do not approach evaluators, all questions should be directed towards me.
Releases after all of the tryouts will be via the website. You will notice a number at the bottom of the passport when you paid for the passport. This is your child’s number. Please check the website after the tryout to see if you child’s number appears in the list. The list will be updated by midnight the night of the tryout. If the number is on the webpage for the Pee Wee team he/she is invited back to the next tryout. If their number does not appear they have been released and they are invited to tryout at the A level. PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK THE WEBSITE CARFULLY!
The tryouts will consist of 4 separate tryouts:
Sunday April 24th 2:00-3:30 ACC 2
Monday April 25th 6:30-8:00 ACC 1
Tuesday April 26th 8:00-9:00 Exhibition Game @ Tom Graham Arena Richmond Hill
Wednesday April 27th 7:30-9:00 Exhibition Game ACC 2 VS Richmond Hill
It is important to know that playing rep hockey requires a big commitment both time-wise and financially. This year we will be playing approximately 30 league games plus additional play-off, tournament and exhibition games. The regular ice times have not yet been determined. Each week there will be, on average, two practices and one home and one away game. There will also be 2-4 tournaments (one/two out of town). Budget outlines have not been completed but we expect it will cost approximately ($2000-$2,500) per player for the season. Parents may be called upon to obtain sponsorships, organize fundraising activities to help offset these costs, and to support the team administratively. There will also be a mandatory team dress code for games.
Once the team has been selected there will be a mandatory fitting for the team jerseys on Wednesday June 1st at 7:15..
