AMHA Atom AE team tryouts. My name is Ammy Mann and I will be the coach of
the 2016-2017 Aurora Tigers Atom AE team.
Thank you for taking the time to attend.
The players will be assigned a tryout jersey colour and number. Jersey must be handed in to the coach following completion of each tryout.
Kindly note that full protective gear is mandatory, including neck and mouth guards – players without, or missing such equipment, will not be allowed on the ice.
The tryouts will be an anxious time for all of us while the players are evaluated. It will be an extremely difficult task choosing 17 players (15 players, 2 goalies) for each team from a large group of hardworking athletes. Player selection will be based on their individual abilities such as:

To ensure the selection process is fair, there will be a team of evaluators, as well as a team of independent evaluators put in place by the AMHA. Please do not approach evaluators, all questions should be directed towards me.
Releases after all of the tryouts will be via the website. You will notice a number at the bottom of the passport when you paid for the passport. This is your child’s number. Please check the website 3 to 4 hours after the tryout to see if you child’s number appears in the list. If the number is on the webpage for the Atom AE team he/she is invited back to the next tryout. If their number does not appear they have been released and they are invited to tryout at the Atom Select level (tryouts held in the fall). Tryout details are as follows
Tryout #1 – Saturday May 7th, 2016. 1:30 – 3:00pm @ ACC 2 (McAlpine Lincoln Arena)
Tryout #2 – Monday May 9th, 2016. 6:30 – 8:00pm @ ACC 1 (McAlpine Ford Arena)
Tryout #3 – Tuesday May 10th, 2016. 6:30 – 8:00pm @ ACC 1 (McAlpine Ford Arena)
It is important to know that playing rep hockey requires a big commitment both time-wise and financially. This year we will be playing approximately 30 league games plus additional play-off, tournament and exhibition games. The regular ice times have not yet been determined. Each week there will be, on average, two practices and one home and one away game. There will also be 2-4 tournaments (one/two out of town). Budget outlines have not been completed but we expect it will cost approximately ($2000-$2,500) per player for the season. Parents may be called upon to obtain sponsorships, organize fundraising activities to help offset these costs, and to support the team administratively. There will also be a mandatory team dress code for games.
Important date to note - Our team will have our Tigerware fitting on Wednesday May 25th, 2016 from 7:15 - 8:30pm. The fitting will take place at our new Tigerware provider's office;
