Congratulations to the Minor Bantam AE Tigers on winning the Bradford Blue and Gold Classic held November 20-22nd!
The Tigers went undefeated and outscored the competition 14-4 in the tournament. With spectacular goaltending from both Max Piorischin and Joey Livia and strong play by the rest of the team the Tigers never allowed more than one goal in any of the games.
The semi-final against the Orangeville Flyers was a nail-biter. Halfway through the second period, Orangeville scored to take a 1-0 lead. The Tigers poured it on but could not put the puck behind the Flyers goaltender. Then with just 3:05 left in the third period, the Tigers scored to tie it up. Less than a minute later, the Tigers scored again to make it 2-1, clinching a spot in the Sunday final.
The Tigers were pumped for their final game against the Clarence Rockland Crush. They came out strong from the drop of the puck and did not stop until it was 4-1 at the final whistle. A solid win for the team!
Coaches and parents were proud of the play and determination displayed by the Tigers all weekend. The boys stayed strong and played hard despite a broken skate blade and a few minor injuries along the way. It was a well played and well deserved win for the Tigers!!
