The 20th annual Christmas Optimist
Showcase tournament has come to a close and it was an action-packed four days,
filled with highly competitive games, skills competitions, relay races, a
hardest shot contest, and an exciting House League Coaches versus Rep Coaches
game.
A few words from AMHA Volunteer Director, Mary Ann Cobb:
The family night which featured our House League Coaches versus the Rep Coaches was a big success and we had a number of players and families out to cheer them on. The AMHA is very fortunate to have the number of coaching staff that love the game of hockey and are passing that onto the children and developing team play, sportsmanship, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
As I wrap up my first year as Tournament Director, I want to thank the Optimist Club of Aurora for all of their help, especially Alex Ansell, with this tournament and for running the entire Skills Competition during this tournament. Special thanks also to Joe Bentolila, Andrea Bentolila, Linda Cosentino, Annette Vassos, and Sam Speranini for their support.
Thank you to all the parents for your continued support in keeping your children involved in hockey and your support in getting them to their practices and games. Going forward, best of luck to all the teams through the balance of the 2015 - 2016 season.
